For more than 40 years, the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois has provided Orthopaedic Service to Southern Illinois and the Midwest; being committed to the advancement of musculoskeletal care in America and around the world.

Established in Mt. Vernon, Illinois in 1974 as James Chow, MD, Ltd., the Orthopaedic Clinic of Mt. Vernon grew to become the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois with the construction of a new, state-of-the-art facility in 1999.

In addition to the campus in Mt. Vernon, the Orthopaedic Center has an office in Centralia, IL. The Centralia campus is located next to St. Mary's/Good Samaritan Hospital at 402 North Pleasant Avenue and across the street from the Centralia Park. On-site Digital X-Ray and Physical Therapy are also available at the Centralia campus. Satellite clinics are located in Benton and Nashville, Illinois.

State-of-the-art equipment represents one more example of the commitment we have to our patients. On-site Digital X-ray, Interventional Pain Management, Minor Procedures, and Physical Therapy / Occupational Therapy are also available at the campus in Mt. Vernon. The Orthopaedic Center is located at the intersection of 42nd St. and Veteran's Memorial Drive.

Our Vision -
The Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois will always strive to be the premier regional Orthopaedic facility in the Midwest, by providing the highest quality care and patient satisfaction available in the region. We will do so by continually upgrading and expanding our state-of-the-art equipment, base facility, and satellite facilities to meet the growing needs of our patients well into the twenty-first century.

Our facility will recruit only the most competent and caring specialized Orthopaedic surgeons, allied health care professionals, and staff available in the country. These highly skilled professionals will always strive to listen to the patient with his/her undivided attention and respect at all times. Anything less will be unsatisfactory. In addition, our employees will also be treated with respect, and any suggestions or concerns for our commitment to them or our patients will be heard. Location and accessibility are high on our priority list with the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois being located at the crossroads of southern Illinois and the tri-state area, allowing anyone quick and easy access to our facility.

Specialized Orthopaedic care will be the cornerstone of this unique organization where continuous adaptation to the latest cutting edge Orthopaedic procedures, treatments, and rehabilitation will always be the rule and never the exception! The Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois will never settle for second best and will continue to be committed to the advancement of Orthopaedic care. We will continue to strive to be considered by all physicians, health care providers, and competitors, as the standard by which all other Orthopaedic facilities, in the Midwest, are measured.

Dr. James C. Chow annouced his retirement from the Orthopaedic Center of Southern Illinois effective March 31, 2014. The Corporation expresses appreciation for his services and contribution to the Corporation. He appreciates the opportunity and privilege that patients have given him to work as your physician and wishes all the very best from this point forward.
